Woodmont is a high-end community located just over the Potomac River from Washington DC. Steep hills, Fort CF Park and residential streets surround the neighborhood, giving it a nice, private ambiance just minutes away from all of the action of Washington DC.

North of Rosslyn and Lyon Village 

Situated along Sprout Run Parkway and George Washington Memorial Parkway, Woodmont is placed in a convenient, yet surprisingly serene location. Fort CF Park provides a good buffer between the busy roads and the residences. Beginning at the corner of Military Road and Lorcom Lane, the neighborhood continues north up Military Road, east along N Nelly Custis Drive, up along Windy Run Stream, east along George Washington Memorial Parkway, southwest along N Sprout Run Parkway, then west along Lorcom Lane back to the starting point at Military Road. The neighborhood borders the following Arlington VA communities: Lyon Village, Rosslyn, Maywood, Riverwood and Dover-Crystal.

Original Homes and New Construction

Woodmont definitely has a sense of exclusivity, with gorgeous homes, many of which are valued in the 1-2+ million-dollar range. The real estate market in this dynamic area consists of single-family homes, ranging in size, style, and of course, construction date. Although many of the homes were originally constructed in the 1940s, there also has been a boom of brand new construction that has taken over certain vacant areas of the community in recent years. It’s not uncommon to see new high-end developments pop up throughout the area. As far as the home styles, residents are proud to have an eclectic mix of houses, including craftsman, contemporary, rambler, cape cod and colonial homes.

DC-Maryland-Virginia Accessible

Being within close distance to main highway and arteries like George Memorial Parkway, Sprout Run Parkway, Military Road, and Lorcom Lane makes traveling via car nearly effortless. These access roads bring residents and visitors to and from Washington DC, throughout Arlington and of course neighboring Virginia towns to the west and to the south, including Tyson’s Corner, Dulles, Fairfax and Alexandria. Although it may be a bit less convenient, it’s also possible to take either Metrobus or ART bus lines into Arlington, Washington DC and out further west. The neighboring green space of Windy Run Park also provides an entry point to the Potomac Heritage Trail, which not only gives walkers, bikers and joggers a scenic view, but also connects with major trails, including the Custis Trail, Mount Vernon Trail and the C&O Canal Trail.

Minutes to Rosslyn, Clarendon, and DC

Within the boundaries of Woodmont, you won’t find any commercial activity, but the bustling Arlington urban villages of Rosslyn and Clarendon are only a few minutes away. Rosslyn is up and coming in the Arlington restaurant scene, but certainly has a couple of great options for a night out or happy hour. Check out Heavy Seas Alehouse, Piola, 100 Montaditos and Pho 75. In the next couple of months, the area is slotted to open some new exciting restaurant ventures, including Secret Chopsticks, Spinfire and Sip Wine Bar. Central Place is also an ongoing project in Rosslyn that will have a public observation deck, office space, residential tower and of course tons of new retail options.

Clarendon is also an obvious choice for residents for entertainment and dining, with a longtime bustling scene for entertainment. Restaurants like Cava, Lyon Hall, and Liberty Tavern always keep locals happy with dining out. Nightlife is also incredibly popular in Clarendon, which is often referred to as Arlington’s Downtown. Arlington Rooftop, Whitlow’s on Wilson, and Galaxy Hut are just a sample of the options for a night out in the area.

One of the most attractive features of Woodmont is its close proximity to Washington DC. Although this may be good news for commuters, it’s also great for those looking more to do in the little free time that most citizens have! Georgetown is just a quick walk or taxi away and has some of the best retail, dining and nightlife options in the district.

Surrounded by Parks

The parks in and around Woodmont not only provide a nice barrier between the neighborhood and nearby busy roads, but also give residents lots of options to enjoy the outdoors. Fort CF Park is within the boundaries of the neighborhood and has 19 acres of space, an open meadow, the historic Hendry House, a half-mile trail, an ornamental peace garden and lots of opportunities for wildlife sightings. Windy Run Park is also nearby the neighborhood, and has 14 acres of space, nature trails and paths and of course the Windy Run Stream.

A Secluded Neighborhood with Demand

Woodmont is bound to stay on the radar of North Arlington buyers for years to come. Not only does the neighborhood have an ideal location close to Washington DC, but also has recreation opportunities, shopping and entertainment nearby and of course beautiful homes. It’s a no-brainer why so many residents choose to stay and inventory remains low in this pillar of the Arlington community.
