Living in Rosslyn puts the best of Virginia and the District of Columbia at your fingertips. The Rosslyn Metro station is the meeting point for the orange line and blue line, making commuting into DC a breeze. Commuting by foot over the scenic Key Bridge, Georgetown is a short ¾ mile walk from the heart of Rosslyn. From a tourist standpoint, Rosslyn is home to the Marine Corp’s Iwo Jima Memorial and is adjacent to Arlington National Cemetary. Currently under construction, the new Central Place towers will be feature an observation deck that will no doubt be a staple of the DC tourism industry because of it’s panoramic views of DC, the National Mall and Potomac River. In recent years Rosslyn has become home to some of the most exclusive condominium residences in the greater Washington, DC Real Estate market. The pillars of Rosslyn’s luxury condo market are Memorial Overlook, The Dakota, Turnberry Tower, Residences at Waterview and Jim Abdo’s Wooster and Mercer Lofts. If stunning views of the National Mall, Potomac River and/or Georgetown is what you are after, Atrium Condo and The Belevedere have plenty of units that offer such scenery. Perhaps the best views are found at Prospect House and The Weslie, which was home to the real-life residence of Senator Charlie Wilson (of the movie Charlie Wilson’s War). In fact, the views from The Weslie are shown quite often in this movie. Just behind the Iwo Jima Memorial are four rows of stunning white brick townhomes that are aptly named Monument Place because of the impressive panoramic views from their roof-top terraces. These townhomes are the ultimate DC power residences for anyone looking to entertain on the 4th of July! Other row home options in Rosslyn include Highgate and Palisades Park which both feature one and two car garage brick townhouses. The Bromptons at Rosslyn features contemporary two-car garage townhomes. Dining and nightlife options abound in Rosslyn and adjacent to our Century 21 Redwood Realty office are some of the best. The most acclaimed of these is Ray’s The Steaks, which serves up some of the most critically acclaimed steaks in the DC area (with a much more neighborhood feel than could be found at a Morton’s or The Palms). Of the same pedigree is Ray’s Hell Burger, which utilizes the same great meat to create the city’s tastiest burgers. Guajillo is acclaimed for it’s Mexican cuisine and The Village Bistro never disappoints. Although it’s technically in Courthouse, the Rhodeside Grill is a great option for Sunday Brunch or catching your favorite game (and in many ways it’s more Rosslyn than Courthouse). Other great Rosslyn dining and nightlife options are Café Asia, Piola, Santa Fe Café, Continental Pool Lounge and Domaso. |
